Thank you BallyaltikilliganG. I have certainly got more to work on now. The mention in your post of a Felix and Margaret is interesting as my James had two children by those names, and they do tend to be repeated within families.

thank you dathai, the Cowman variation doesnt appear in the 6 counties tithes indicies by the irish genealogy.  Hub variants found on ros davies co down include COEN & CONE.

Just out of Interest - I have Cowan's in my tree - Bridget Cowan who married Dennis O'Higgins on 1 March 1834 in Drumgooland upper, Co Down

One of the witnesses on the marriage record is a Mary Cowan.

She died in Ballymagreehan in 1896 aged 88.

Her children scattered across the UK - son Matthew in Liverpool, son John in Cumberland, Son Dennis in Ayr, Scotland possibly a daughter Rose in Canada.

I have a DNA test on Ancestry and Gedmatch if anyone thinks they might be connected!

McClean, Kelly, Murray, Higgins, McAnulty (McNulty, Conalty, Kinolty), Morgan, Rafferty, McPolin (All Co Down, Ireland) Bowman, Hooper(Yorkshire)
