Ethel Sophia lived in Pinxton when she died in June 1940 looking for her and her husband John A Palmer grave possibly in Pinxton cemetery GRHWKX

From 1937 Pinxton came under Chesterfield Reg District - are you sure she was living in Pinxton when she died?

Where are they living on the 1939 register?

BURIAL - Pinxton Churchyard, Derbyshire. Row 9 Grave 16

PALMER, Ethel Sophia - died 26 May 1940 - Burial 30 May 1940, aged 53 yrs. Address =  Park Lane.
PALMER, John Allen - died 5 July 1967 - Burial 10 July 1967, aged 75 yrs. Address = 81, Park Lane.

There is a Grave Marker.... Marble Open Book & Kerb
Loving memory of
My dear wife
Ethel Sophia Palmer Died May 26 1940
Aged 53 years
Also her husband Allen Palmer
Died July 5 1967
Aged 75 years
Reunited
Also her father Walter Bishop
Died May 21 1936 aged 80 years

It seems the couple married in Nottingham registration district in 1916 ?.... but I don't know exactly where.

Added :  I think this is the marriage of Ethel Sophia' parents....
