Pugh family of Herefordshire, England photo dating (3xgreat grandparents)
« on: Monday 05 November 18 22:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'd love to know when this photo was taken please. Hopefully it will help to verify which family this actually is in the Pugh line. The head was most likely an agricultural labourer. I don't have the original unfortunately, just a scanned image. Thanks.

Welcome to Rootschat, NicoleO!
I'm more a restorer than a dating person but I think your photo is Edwardian and probably early to mid decade. My moving your request up the board may attract more attention and have my estimate either confirmed or corrected by the more expert people.
Cheers,
Peter

Mid Edwardian would be about right.

There is just something about this family that makes me think they are one step up from ag labs.

Thank you all, that fits well with what I'd been told by family. On the 1901 census the head, Thomas is listed as an Agricultural labourer, his wife Susanah is a laundress. On the 1911 census he is listed as a Farm labourer, but also Employer. So maybe doing well, but she is still a laundress.
