Hello Maddys52 and Radcliff. The Nancy who marries Mr Wrigley looks like a possibility, for some reason Thomas ended up in Horwich so must have Travelled south with his parent.

Just looking at your Thomas BECK in the 1871 census - have you traced the nephew Richard BECK? Is he the son of a sibling of Thomas, if so are there any details about his parentage? Will  have a quick look now, though I'll have more time later to follow it up.  ;)

hello Maddy52
I have never looked into Richard Beck and to be honest i have never noticed that he is down as a nephew.it would seem that Nancy could have had more children.
Thank you Lee

Yes, it's never easy is it!

Can't see a Richard BECK born c1855, Horwich in any other census, or a likely baptism. There is a birth registration for Richard BECK in Mar qtr 1852 at Bolton (mother's maiden name SANDON), though I suspect he died in Sept qtr 1853.

HelloRadcliffe.
I have been looking into Ratcliffe Wrigley. He married a Nancy Beck in 1828 who we know died 1838.
I followed who i think is the correct Ratcliffe Wrigley born 1880 who is in a workhouse in Blackburn in 1841.
I cant find him in 1851 but on Lanc opc it shows he died 1856 in Workhouse.
As Maddy found a Nephew Richard with Thomas Beck in 1871 i thought i would try Wrigleys with Becks in household.
I found in 1871 a Mary Ann Beck b1864 with a James Wrigley in Clitheroe
There was also a Beck nephew in the Household of Thomas Wrigley.also in Clitheroe in 1881
Traced the Thomas Wrigley back through census and his father is a Ratcliffe born 1794 .
Cant find any other Wrigley/ beck marriages.

Doh!,
I see what you are saying maybe he was a Greenhalgh from Patiences side of family .
I will look at that
Thanks
I have just traced Richard Greenhalgh b1855 he is in Ainsworth with Thomas and Betty on 1861
Betty is a widow on 1871 he is still there.
Coincidence is next door neighbour is a Squire Greenhalgh same name as witness on Thomas and Patience marriage.
