On his marriage, Georgeís father is named as John, a boat builder.

To go forward, you could look at Free BMD  or perhaps Lancashire BMD for marriages of the living children from 1911.
Presumably your grandadís daughter married one of Georgeís children.

On Ancestry there are 2 trees for George and Sarah Elizabeth, worth taking a look, it appears that these parents had quite a few babies that died very young, family tree should also be checked against your own records as they are someone else's work

George and Sarah are apart on 1939, on Ancestry

It looks as though both other boys died soon after 1911.
As you say, they seem to have lost several children soon after birth.
