There is a death registered Bellingham Union, Q4 1839 for a Barbara Simpson aged 40, which may be the lady on this headstone. The quarter is wrong for the date on the headstone, but perhaps it was erected after Andrew died and her death date was misremembered.

You could ask for a look up in the burial register at Woodhorn , if anyone is going and has time they may check it for you.

and now that I have firkled round the deaths index and gone back and twiddled with the gravestone image in a graphics package I think the other Barbara's death year is 1854.

The Place that Andrew lived at in 1871 was Yearheugh in Monkridge   how it gets to Ovgleugh on the headstone  is

I know they are BTs but even I know you can't be buried before you are baptized
