. do you think will also have the copy of the birth record.
thank you.brian

FindMyPast has the full baptism record. I've looked at it and  you implied that you had seen it also.  There will not be a separate birth record - see my reply #5

Which year and where was  'Nov. 29. David, s. of Thos. Prichard of Willow St., & Mary, b. 22nd ... bap'

If the Thomas, who married Mary in March 1774, was the one bapt in May 1756, then wouldn't David be their son?

yes your correct with david being the son re marriage 1774.

of the thomas pritchard who went off to war in 1756 have been trawling through the oswesty parich records for a marriage.do you thing this will be possible to nail down without the mothers name on the birth ?
thanks.brian

I tried looking through the Oswestry records the other day.  It could be in the various parishes around Oswestry or, they might not have married.

You could check some of the nearby Shropshire, Montgomeryshire and Denbighshire parishes.

i have plenty of possibles wonder if his army records would turn up his next of kin if he had one.
on family search found there is a thomas prichard 1753 hereford wife watkins- also henllan 1752 davies.-bedwelly 1755 thomas.-church stoke hereford 1756 weaver .llangurig 1752.-oswestry 1755 margaret jones.-and two others in saint julian and moel brace.

the two most likely i think are oswestry 1755 margaret.or llangurig 1752 just have a feeling on that one. as there is a william pritchard lodging with my father in oswestry 1881 being born to jacob in 1861.wonder if there is a link there.

sorry to moider !!!
thanks brian

No sign of the 1755 marriage in the online Oswestry parish records or melocki that I can see. They are listed in the misc. collection of English Parish records.  Maybe worth trying to look at the originals at Shropshire records office  :-\

Interestingly there is an Edward Prichard of Maesbury having children around that time. Worth following up.
