The Mystery of Mary Ann Owens (of Ealing)
« on: Friday 09 November 18 11:30 GMT (UK) »
I have a marriage certificate dated 20 Nov 1915 from St Benedict's Ealing

Mary Ann OWENS aged 37 spinster of 9 Marshwood Cres, Ealing - her father noted as a deceased (unreadable word) coachman, Francis OWENS

(the groom James Naylor a widower living at Pirbright Camp)

In 1911 at 9 Marshwood Cres, Ealing is Mr & Mrs Buott and 2 servants Dormer & Wade

In 1939 at 53 Legh Street, Newton in Makerfield, Lancashire I find Mary Anne NAYLOR with James and her date of birth as 8 May 1879.

I'm struggling to locate her in any census records 1881 to 1911

Any help welcome, thank you!

Just checking my understanding that St Benedict’s is a Catholic church?  If Mary Ann was Catholic that may affect the availability of baptism records for her.

is it possible she was born in Ireland? I can find a 23 year old Mary Ann Owens living in Dublin in 1901. She was a housemaid, RC, and was born in Louth, Carrick???? Same household has a cook called Bridget Owens aged 18 and born in Louth town.
