Improvement of Scarborough Photographs
« on: Saturday 10 November 18 00:22 GMT (UK) »
The attached two images are early photographs of Scarborough, England.
One is fairly faint and the other is blurred.

I have tried to improve them but with minimal success.

Can anyone else do a better job?
All help appreciated.

I've had a go, but don't know whether there is much difference.

Had a go at the second one.
You might need to work on a really high resolution scan, Tony, to get much improvement. I tried an "FFT" filter - which a few of us talked about on here a year or so back - to try to get rid of the banding without losing sharpness, but my experience with the filter has been that it only works about one quarter of the time. :(

Thanks for your help.
It's pretty hard to make much of an improvement.
Unfortunately, unable to obtain any better scans

Thanks for spending your time trying to get something better.
I tried various de-blurring programs on the Internet but they did not live up to their write-ups :-)
