Description of wound

Can anybody help decipher what this says? I know he had a problem with his hand. Looks like "C F Flang" ?? (thinking cf = compound fracture but flang??)

Maybe a mis-spelt phalanges (bones of the hand/foot)

Here's an extract showing the wounds of several others that also have "CF", though not the same word/s. The yellow is my highlighting.

Totally un-medical thoughts:

The note belongs in each case to the entry below as CF Rad and Ulna must be CF Radius and Ulna (arm bones) which is above "arm" when it appears.  I doubt that the medics would mis-spell phalanges with an F so CF would be something related to the hand.  CF perhaps as in "see....."

Is there a doctor in the house?

Just come in to say that it's most likely Compound Fracture and see that ainslie has offered it as well.

I've seen a lot of medical records in my time but mostly Obs, Gynae and paediatrics

Maybe it is 'Phalanges' but the notes were written not by the doctor but an assistant not medically trained? As Max D stated, obviously something to do with the hand. I think 'cf' as in 'see' is usually lower case, though again if written by an 'underling' may have been written 'CF'.
