William Braton Martin Alderson
« on: Saturday 10 November 18 15:33 GMT (UK) »
Im looking for military history of my great uncle, William Braton Martin Alderson, he was born in 1914 During world war II, he was mostly stationed in Belgium and was a cook in the army.

He died in 1992, he actually committed suicide, due to depression.

If anyone could advise the best place for me to start/ look for records etc that would be a great help.

Many thanks

As a WW2 soldier his records are still with the Ministry of Defence, not on line, and you can apply for them, subject to the conditions.  The process is here:

https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records
You don't need his service number as long as you have the other requirements.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
