Thomas Bulkley Campbell d. 1835
« on: Sunday 11 November 18 16:12 GMT (UK) »
Maj. Thomas Bulkley Campbell, formerly of the Royal Marines and commandant of the Isle of Anholt before it was handed back to Denmark, died in London on 12 Oct. 1835 aged 79.

Can anyone tell me who his parents were?
Did his sister marry a Mr Spiers who died by 1796?

His will is on ancestry and TNA , with a summary on FindMyPast. His main beneficiary is his sister Catherine Battye , wife of the late Richard Battye. It also mentions a niece Mary , wife of James Fenton & a niece Ellen Battye . I can't decipher any more at the momentbut it would be worth your looking to see if you can construct the family.

Charlotte Catherine Campbell of St Giles , Camberwell married Richard Battye of St Andrews Holborn
27 Oct 1792.

Witnesses  are difficult to decipher , but one is Joseph Spiers.

Many thanks for your swift response, Christine.

It's rather remarkable that I have a Battye / Fenton connection in quite a different part of the tree, and in Sheffield rather than London.  But it's certainly worth looking into.
