Can anyone help me with anything at all on:

James Horner (29 Nov 1909 - 1979)

Can't even find him on 1939 (or any marriage or children)

He might have been in the armed forces in which case he wouldn’t appear on the 1939 register.

However.....I suggest you look again as free search on the 1939 register, with the name and date of birth you provide gives one positive result. Unless you have already seen it and have reason to dismiss it?

Have you really looked at and dismissed every possible marriage of a James Horner between, say, 1929 and 1939?

Father named James as executor of his will in 1934 & James therein a motor engineer. Compare occupation with result found by rosie99 in 1939.
