Don't have the 1871 census. I only have a copy of a 1861 census which states born in Kilkenny ireland but Was that in the barracks??  Military data hard to keep track off as they kept moving. Thank you.

Please can you give details of the 1861 census you have.  It’s much easier for people on here to help if you provide what you know at the start - it seems you did know that Catherine was born in Ireland rather than England, which makes all the difference in terms of availability of records.

Catherine was recorded on a copy of a census. She is listed in the household of Thomas and Catherine  Flinter who took her in. They were her grandparents. When Thomas Landsley died in 1847 we have found out Eliza remarried in 1849 to George Thompson so must have given up her children!!!  We now don't know where William went to??

I can’t see the Flinter entry in 1861.

Where did the 1849 remarriage to George Thompson take place?

Eliza Flinter remarried a civil ceremony in Dublin and we know nothing more about her.

I have tried looking for William Landsley born 1845 in census but no luck - maybe he died young. I was hoping to find him with Thomas (his fathers) grandparents who lived in Wiltshire I believe.
