Yes that's him. I find it hard to find his parents, his grandparents and before that etc. Also it would be nice to find any other family members, except the small number of family members that I am aware of, with or without the Pyle surname!

Yes that's him and his family when his wife Harriet was still alive in the 1871 census.

Hi Campingdave

Many thanks for the information! I now have Thomas's father and mothers details and will try to find his fathers father etc. as I am only trying to go back as far as I can on the Pyle side of my family.
The 21 year old Thomas mentioned in the 1851 census was the one murdered at Redhills Durham in 1882.

RootsChat covers such a variety of things to do with tracing family information that I thought I would ask if there is any member  there with or without the surname Pyle who has a connection to my ancestor Thomas Pyle who was murdered at the Redhills path in Durham in 1882. His murderer Peter Bray was hung in Durham Jail in 1883. Thanks!

If you're still looking at this site, I think the murdered man was my great great grandfather. His illegitimate son with Ann Dixon was my paternal ancestor.
