Wilfred Payne 1900-1979

Hi,
My grandfather was Wilfred Payne.
He was born in Kings Lynn in 1900 and died in Scunthorpe in 1979. (Had the flu jab Thursday and was dead the next morning!!!)
He did not see any service in WW1 but did go to India with the army in 1920-1924 or a year either way.
Is it possible to find out any details of this tour of duty.
