Warwickshire Bishop’s Transcripts
« on: Monday 12 November 18 21:04 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone please advise me how I access BT?
I am seeking the birth of Daniel Shurley, who married in Stoneleigh in 1794.
He is listed as being “of this parish”
I have recently discovered that parish records around the time of his birth 1766 are missing.
Cheers Linda in South Australia

Welcome to Rootschat

Of this parish (OTP) - does not necessarily mean he was born in that parish - just that he satisfied the short residential qualifying time required to enable him to marry there (approx 3wks)

Daniel was 52 when he died in 1819 so birth year approx 1767

Welcome to Rootschat from me too!

If you go to the catalogue on Familysearch, enter Stoneleigh and then go to church records you will see there is a camera symbol showing that the Bishop's Transcripts for Stoneleigh have been digitised. However they can only be viewed at a Familysearch centre or affiliate library.

You should be able to find your nearest library here Linda.

I know they have some in NZ - so hopefully one near you in S Australia.
