Wakefield Prisoner
« on: Monday 12 November 18 23:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I was talking to my Uncle earlier in the week and he mentioned that he remembers his great Uncle, Thomas Kelly born 19.04.1911 in Oldham, being out of work and stealing some bacon. He says he cant remember exactly when this was but that Thomas served some time in Wakefield prison as a result of this while he (my Uncle) was in Junior School - so about 1956 I think.

Can anyone help shed any light on this please

Looking on findmy past they have no prison records after 1935. You may well find that there is a cut off date where records are locked because there is a possibility that the person named may still be alive.

Hello and thank you everyone for looking at this; it would seem that inadvertently I've lead you on a wild goose chase. I've spoken to a few other relatives and I have confused 2 people. The person who went to prison actually served his time at both Wakefield and Strangeways and his name was Thomas Entwistle (not Kelly) b.02.06.1934.

Sorry guys and a special thank you to Emeltom for the info.
