Methodist burials - Tregarth area
« on: Tuesday 13 November 18 16:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am trying to find any burial records for my family who are all from Tregarth. The family name is Pritchard and they lived in Craig y Pandy from at least 1850 until at least 1950.

The family were Methodists and I don't know where they might be buried. I visited Tregarth a few weeks ago (I live in Gloucestershire) and searched the graveyard at St Mary's Tregarth but didn't find them.

Would Methodists have had their own burial place and if so, does anyone know where that might have been please?

Thank you

Jo

Welcome to rootschat

Sorry I can't help on where Methodist burials would take place in that area but if you want to post some names and dates of death someone may be able to help you find them.

Thank you.

My great-grandfather, Owen Pritchard, of Craig y Pandy, Tregarth, died in an accident at Penrhyn Quarry on 15 September 1885. I don't know where he is buried. His wife (my great-grandmother) was Grace Pritchard (her maiden name and her married name were both Pritchard, sometimes spelled Prichard) and I don't have a date of death for her, though it was after 1911 as she is in that census, still in Craig y Pandy. She was born around 1850.

My great, great grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Prichard, were also from Craig y Pandy, Tregarth. Born around 1815 and both appear to have died between 1861 and 1871. Again I can't find any burial records.

If anyone is able to point me in the right direction I'd be most grateful.

Thank you

Jo
