Thanks so much. That answes my question perfectly. Sorry if I caused confusion with the two posts.

Barbara.

Its not just the confusion for people trying to help, if you tell us what you know then we are in a better position to help. If, for instance you'd said what and where the 'hint' was you could have had this info more or less straight away.
I am not having a go at you, I know its sometimes difficult to decide how to phrase a query, I really am trying to help but its so much easier and quicker to help if we have a fuller picture.

Still the main thing is that once you get the PM I think you can be fairly certain that Christopher Hansen and Elizabeth Gair didn't actually go to Australia :-)

I can (I think) say that the groom's home address was given as Blyth, Northumberland :-)

Boo

What year was it?

jamjar, not sure if you were going to look, but given the groom's address of Blyth and the fact he was in the  Forces its quite possible that he was not on a standard passenger list

Boo

Sorry Boo, Sydney.

Added: 2nd husband, Richard Wellington MADDERN, buried 27-7-1987, with what appears to be his folks at Woronora Cemetery.

Her parents were cremated at Woronora: Wall Of Memories - Panel 11 - Gg - 0714/0715

There is a possible death for Christopher in 1986 listed with parents Christopher and Elizabeth, but the newspaper death notice doesn’t give his age, so can’t be sure.

Death and funeral notices: Type 25 in the little, white box:

Well, what can I say? Did not expect the help I have been given.

The Christopher who I was asking about is the son of the Christopher and Elizabeth I thought.
He was born in Blyth, Northumberland (not Glasgow as on marriage cert. A little white lie???) he was born last quarter of 1921 reg Tynemouth. The family had merchant navy connections right back to Hans Christian Hansen b 1856 in Norway my ggrandfather.
The address on marriage cert is quite close to the harbour and beach area of Blyth.
This Christopher was my mothers cousin but I had never heard of him either from my mum or my dad so will have to do a bit more talking to my one remaining uncle. I will let you know if I go further with them.

Well, thank you so much Tickettyboo and Jamjar you have both been sooooooo helpful.
