Edith Ann Firmer - 1879 - 1963

I have discovered this lady in my 'tree' and she appears to have been born in Uckfield.  She married a man by the name of Ebenezer Mepham (he was born in Withyam) in 1899 and they went on to have nine children.  I cannot find a birth for her whatsoever.  Any ideas please.  Thank you very much.

Have you looked for her on the 1939 register to get her exact birthdate?

Does she give a fathers name on her marriage cert?

Have you looked for her on the 1881 and 1891 censuses?

Why do you give her birthplace as Uckfied as both censuses after her marriage show Withyham

May be coincidence but a Mary Jane Firmer married  Jesse Fenner in June qtr 1880 Uckfield.  Part transcription on FS

No Edith with them in 1881 but they married 24.4.1880 prior to her birth so probably a red herring

She did well - 9 children between 1900 and 1911. Looking at the GRO site the eldest daughter Rodmelia has mmn Former and Charles has mmn Fermoe. The rest have mmn Fermor.
