« on: Thursday 15 November 18 00:01 GMT (UK) »
Looking for Kathe HORSTEL who married Harri SCHMIDT in Berlin before 1940.
They lived at Baumschulenweg, Berlin their Son born 1940.

Could their given names be diminutives for Katherine, Heinrich, Harolde?

Hi,

Harri (with "i" on the end) is pretty unusual. It's normally with a "y" here. Harry is usually the short form of Harald.

Käthe is normally the short form for Katharine/Katharina.

Is it possible that her name was Hörstel? (Hoerstel) I can't find anything on the name Horstel...

Best regards,
Karen

Had a look at the Berlin address books from 1941 to 1943
https://digital.zlb.de/viewer/cms/82/

No entries for Harri(ald) Schmidt in Berlin Baumgartenweg.
But, there is a Franz Hörstel listed, from 1941 to 1943.

Hörstel, Franz, Kaufm(ann), Merchant Baumschulenweg, Rodelbergweg.

Dave
