Thomas Winder Faithwaite WW1

Hi All, my grandson is doing a WW1 project at school. I am trying to find the Service and injury record of a Thomas Winder Faithwaite, I know he was in the 23rd Manchester Regiment. I also know that he died of his injury's in January 1922. Could anyone tell me how to find his Service and Injury record or any information please? Thank you.

He was a Private - reg number  303197 and he was awarded the British and Victory medals.  Info from Medal Roll Index

There is a War Pension record under Thomas William Faithwaite - same reg number but his service record is not found.  Over 60% were burnt during the WW2 blitz

The WP record is available on Ancestry.  Check with your nearest main library re free access and you can also download it.  The MRI is available on the same site

There is mention of him in an obituary for his father

Looking at the POW records, he was captured at Ypres on 22 October 1917 and held in POW camps at Stettin, Altdamm, and Stralsund.

There's an army medical record which shows him at No 2 General Hospital in July 1917 suffering from "PUO" (fever). At that stage he had been in the field for 2 months.

The pension record referred to earlier shows that he was suffering from septic endocarditis and a gunshot wound to the right thigh.
