Wallace George Jordan WW1
« on: Thursday 15 November 18 13:41 GMT (UK) »
Hi All, I am also trying to help my grandson with his WW1 school project. I am now looking into Wallace George Jordan, we think he was a Gunner and had two horses in the Warwickshire Regiment. We also think that he suffered from shrapnel. I am trying to find his Service Record. How do I find these please? Thanks

There are two WW1 records for people with that name. One was born 1900 in Exeter and joined the Royal Navy in 1918. The other was a driver in the Army Service Corps, service number T4/248555 (previous number 1891).

The soldier's service record does not appear to have survived. His medal card shows that he served in France from 23 March 1915, and was discharged from the army on 28 April 1919 (the expression used is disembodied, which suggests that he was formerly a Territorial Force part-time soldier).  The T in the service number tells us that he was in the Horse Transport branch.
