Try re-booting your modem, switch it off at the mains for two minutes then switch back on again.
This often cures many internet problems.

I was using Ancestry library edition in my local library this morning and after pressing search I looked at the results and they were all in French! Then it changed to Ancestry.com and told me to register so I had to start all over again to get into the library edition and fortunately it was back in English. I muttered a lot under my breath of course!

Thsnks Guy, have tried that and sadly it made no difference. Can’t understand why it’s Ancestry and FindMyPast but no other websites.

Have tried firefox tonight and that seems ok so far.

Thanks all 😀

Yep.  Ancestry is irritating me A LOT tonight.

I just want to go to the DNA results page.  I'm logged in and when I click on DNA all that comes up is a page SELLING DNA kits and telling me it's the PERFECT GIFT (which is simply NOT TRUE - unethical to imply so IMO)

I've tried via the US and UK sites.

For what it's worth I find Firefox endlessly troublesome.
Not just with particular sites.
I would prefer Chrome, but all my techy helpers insist Firefox is better....
Dread to think what might be worse!!  ::)

What exactly is your problem with Firefox?  Do you make sure that your  cache and history are cleared regularly?  Also, what operating system are you using?

I find Firefox very often crashes or freezes on me.
Though, truthfully I hate clearing the history because then I can't fight my way back into fave sites, don't even know what "cache" is, and I am told the operating system I am using IS Firefox.
I suspect the real problem is that I am a "silver surfer" with very little knowledge of how these things work!  :-\

I'm no spring chicken either  ;D

To clear cache:

On The Top bar Select Tools

Then select Options from the drop down list

Then  select Privacy & Security on left hand col

Scroll down to Clear History. Click on this and the following pop up will appear.

Select whatever you want to clear but suggest that you leave it as mine is showing.

Click Clear Now
