Horace c Primmer

I am slightly confused  and  wonder if anyone can help with an explanation or some help please. I have a Horace C Primmer born 1919 in my tree, (mother Ellen Mogford,) However two dates come up on ancestry and bmd with two separate dates for Horace and same Mother ,1916 and 1919, could anyone explain this please?  I also cannot find any marriage or death for him, I would appreciate any help or look ups if possible please. Other alternative I guess, is he never got married or perhaps has not actually died as of yet, although he would be a grand old age by now..

The 1915 freebmd entry makes reference to the 1919 one.  However - he does not appear in the normal 1915 GRO index (ie) alphabetically.  There is a handwritten  annotation at the end of the page referring to 1919

Have you looked for him on the 1939 register to see what birthyear is given?

I think it may be a legal pecularity

Horace C Primmer's birth registered Apr-Jun 1915, mmn Mogford
Horace C Mogford birth registered same quarter, mmn Mogford.

There's a Mogford/Primmer marriage April-Jun 1915

As yu say there's also a 1919 entry

If you look the images for the 1915 births, they are added in later in pen with "see June 19 " written by them

I suspect his parents married after his birth. The 1919 entry (and addendum to 1915 as Primmer) is probably a re-registration following his parents marriage, as that legitimised him (and allowed his father to be added to the birth cert)

Possible marriage 1944 on freebmd.  Tree on Ancestry confirms right marriage.  1939 entry shows him as Cyril H

Look at the birthdate on the 1939 entry and it’s the same as the 1991 death reg
