Bootle - Alexander Karran

I'm looking for information about my paternal Grandfather Alexander Karran. I know he was born circa 1907 and died in 1947 - buried in Ford Cemetery.  Married to Catherine Karran (nee Strickley). I have no photographs of him. He died when my father Edward Karran (deceased) was three. His life is shrouded in mystery. My aunts only have limited information. They told me that he may have been the straight man in a local comedy double act. He lived for a time at 59 Tennyson Street, Bootle when married. Previous address was 56 Garden Lane, Bootle.  I would love to find out something about his life, i.e. occupation?
