FamilySearch.org account problem
« on: Sunday 18 November 18 10:14 GMT (UK) »
I have just attempted to set up a FamilySearch account.
Apparently I need to have a different email address as well as my usual one.
I do not have another email address. How do I go about setting one up?
Only non technical replies please!

very simple..

just google    gmail sign up  or whatever you want and follow instructions

easier than trying to explain
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Do you mean they are asking for two different email addresses or do you mean they won't accept your usual email address? :-\

As far as I recall I just used my usual email address when I signed up. No one ever asks for two email addresses when you sign up for anything - do they?

I had a look at my account and I only have one email address registered ( I do have others which I would have been able to give if asked . )

Checked mine as well and there is only one email address on there, I can't see why they need two.  I think the only time I've ever been asked for 2 is on an account where money transactions were involved, so they had a back up one if necessary. You could try just making up an email address without creating one and see if that works.

Are you sure you never registered before??

An easy way to check is click   Forgot username or password? on
https://www.familysearch.org/auth/familysearch/login

and enter your email address you have on there!

If you did..... they email details!
