Help interpreting a will?

Im pretty sure this is the right man, Albert O'Gan. As we know that Bernard Patrick OGan was a cinema manager, but at no point did Bernard live in Wakefield? Wondering why it says Wakefield? thanks

Administration was granted at Wakefield!

According to an electoral register online, in 1960 Bernard Patrick O'Gan was living in Brinsworth in the Rotherham area in 1960.  If he was still there three years later, Wakefield might have been the most convenient place to get administration.

The place that probate is granted does not necessarily relate to the place the person lived. One of my ancestors lived in Essex but probate was granted at Llandudno, on the opposite side of the country 

I can't pretend I know the reason for this but have seen similar many times.

My great grandfather died in 1945 in Lancashire and I think his probate was at Llandudno. I assumed it was to do with the war.

As it is an administration you will get no more info. by buying it.

Yes it was - the Principal Probate Registry relocated from London to Llandudno. I don't have the dates for this, I'm afraid, but it might be possible to deduce them from the indexes if you feel it's necessary.

However a brief browse through the records shows many cases where probate or administration was granted a long way from the deceased's place of residence, so other factors must come into play. The most likely reason would seem to be that it was the nearest office to the person applying for probate, but that doesn't seem to apply in this case
