Royal Navy stationed in Buenos Aires 1928?
« on: Sunday 18 November 18 14:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi I found a document about Albert O'Gan returning from Buenos Aires in 1928. The document states he is a seaman but I also know that he was in the Royal Navy, what work would he have been undertaking in Buenos Aires? Would it have been part of the Royal Navy? The name of the ship was the "Alcantara" Thanks

Was the Alcantara the ship he served on or was it the one he returned on from Buenos Aires?

Hi
It says it went from Buenos Aires and arrived in Southampton. It says the steamship line was the Royal Mail Steam?

The Alcantara was a ship of The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, sailing between Southampton and South America.

He was a 3rd class passenger on the Alcantara, which as Stan says was a Royal Mail steam packet. Not Royal Navy.
