So Joseph and Cornelia married after Henry was born yet Joseph is a bachelor when he marries.

So we still don't know who Henry's mother was.

Notice Joseph Cooke with an "e" so looked for Henry Cooke.

Henry Gupwell Cooke Dec 1872 Birmingham mothers name Gupwell

Do you think we are on the right track with the other Henry birth MMN Brown or no?

can't find any association with a Gupwell. There was a Henry Cook married a Maria brown in 1868 so don't think that is him.

I’ve stumbled across the only baptism I can find for the Cook family.

Joseph Cook   Born21 Feb 1875   Baptised14 Mar 1875    Abode- Phillip St.   Joseph, (stamper)Cornelia

Joseph Cooke Birth  abt 1875
Death - 4/1877 Birmingham Warwickshire

This puts a question mark for the birth of Henry Cook Q4/1874 Birmingham – Vol 6d page 172

The only one I can see earlier was born Q4/1871 or was he William Henry Cook born 4/1873 Birmingham

Colin

PS. Henry G Cook is also on the 1881 census:
Henry G. Cook
Mother: Eliza Cook
Father:  Stephen Hy. Cook

Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

I note Henry was 21 when he married in April 1893.
It looks likely that millipede may be right?

Hi, thanks Colin. On the 1881 census they have Sidney born 1877 and Ann born 1879 there. They are both on GRO as Mother Wareham/Waring. I can't find a record for them. Joseph is also on GRO
Maybe Henry was a son Cornelia had before she married Joseph and either Joseph gave him his name or he was his son.
