LOOK UP REQUEST:- OLD CHURCH, ST PANCRAS, LONDON
« on: Monday 19 November 18 13:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I’m doing some research about a solicitor by the name of Arthur Smith of Winchcombe, Gloucs, who (from census and parish register details) appears to have married the step-daughter of a local butcher, but I am seeking confirmation of this.

Fortunately the solicitor in question had a distinctive middle name, which has enabled me to find a reference to his wedding on Family Search:-

3 March 1867 at Old Church, St Pancras, London
Arthur Heavens Smith = Mary Annie Harvey.

If someone is able to obtain the full details of Arthur Smiths marriage lines I’d be very grateful. Obviously the key piece of information that I need is the name of the bride’s father!

Fathers:  Arthur Smith - Gentleman. Edward Harvey - dead (sic)

Added:  Mary was said to be from Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, Arthur from St Pancras.  Both of full age and single.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Many thanks to you both for responding so quickly. The key piece of evidence (name of bride’s father) matches with Mary’s family details in the 1851 census, which means that she definitely was the daughter of a Winchcombe butcher.
