Help with occupation and address
« on: Monday 19 November 18 21:30 GMT (UK) »
The first photo I believe the occupation listed is general dealer + I’m not sure of the second occupation
In the second photo I believe it says no fixed residence, but I was keen to see if anyone could read what the crossed out words could be, many thanks,
Jamie

I think the second occupation might be Tinker - I had to reduce the size.

Can't make it out either as image is far too blown up making it illegible
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

The first one is legible when reduced but reducing  the second one doesn't really make it any more legible  :-\

Sorry I just screenshot both and didn’t know they’d end up so blown up!
Tinker would fit in with what I would expect, my family are Irish travellers. Thank youuuu

Could you give a bit of background info that might help us decipher the address section, please.

The record is a baptism record from 1903, my great grandfather was born at the side of the road in rathnamuddagh co Westmeath. Could it be possible that the address struck out is Rathnamuddagh? Also what is the meaning of the number 70 above it in brackets?
