Missing Second World War medals awarded to John Percy Hugh GUY
« on: Tuesday 20 November 18 18:38 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the missing Second World War medals posthumously awarded to John Percy Hugh GUY, only son of John Percy & Stella Anita Guy (He did receive and wear on his uniform the 1939-1943 ribbon bar during his service).

Born on the 1st of June at Uplands, Hastings and educated at Rugby and Oxford; rowed for his college, Oriel, where he was reading for the Bar.
He joined the army on the 11th of September 1939, Lieutenant in the Royal Leicestershire Regiment, became Battalion Intelligence Officer.
He was killed leading his men in action on the 29th of September 1944. Buried in the Leopoldsburg War Cemetery Belgium.

His medals unusually for WWII medals had been inscribed or impressed on the back.
1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939–1945

Transcripts of diaries (including letters from his C.O. to his father after he was killed in action) made from letters sent home by Lt. J.P.H.Guy to his father during the Second World War may be read at http://anguline.co.uk/framland/WarDiaries.htm

Any assistance in helping me to buy or locate these missing war service medals would be very much appreciated.

Cheers
Guy
