Deaths not recorded
« on: Tuesday 20 November 18 20:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm stuck finding some of my great uncles/aunts. I've found birth certificates for them but 3 are born in 3 successive years with the same name (but I can't find death certs within a year of the births). Are there any circumstances where a birth certificate would be issued but not a death cert? (they're all 1901-1911).
This is all new to me so thanks for any help offered.

It's not unusual for death's not to be registered, but it might be easier to answer your particular question if you gave us the details of the 3 births so we could have a look for ourselves.
Have you found their mother in the 1911 Census, she should have how many children born and living on the census return.

Much better if you can post Links to certs found etc so people can see for themselves!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Hi, thanks for the quick replies. As I said, this is a new experience for me so I wasn't sure what sort of detail was required. I know the mothers maiden name (Francey). The family is on the 1911 census but the 1st and 2nd children aren't (they should have been) the 3rd child wasn't born until November 1911 so he wouldn't have appeared anyway. The GRONI links to the 2 boys who should have appeared are U/1909/23/1004/24/389 William Logan 21/08/1909 and
U/1910/23/1004/25/39 William Logan 05/08/1910
The 3rd one is U/1911/23/1004/25/256 William Logan 20/11/1911
The 1911 Census only shows tha father , mother and 3 other children born 1904, 1905 and 1907.
Thank you.

I see likely deaths for both the first 2 Williams. 1st dies 9.10.1909 and the other on 1.9.1910. You can view both free on the irishgenealogysite:

The 1911 census shows 5 children born & 3 still alive so that accounts for all up to that point (April 1911).
