Perhaps I should have concentrated on the address - so maybe ignore my earlier post?

I too read it as 78 Leonard St, EC2. And the word on the building does look rather like the end of Hotel.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

In the 1911 census that address is occupied by a "carman"!

In the 1930's, 78 Leonard Street was the address of George Ewer & Co, Charabanc Proprietors.

The building looks a bit like HMRC on Whitehall but some of the detailing is different. How much of it was damaged/rebuilt as a result of/following WW2?

Edit - the coat of arms above the door says Edward VII but it could have been modified at a later date.

I wonder whether the building might be the Carlton Hotel (Pall Mall)?

They were hardy travelers in those days weren't, somewhat different to today's coaches.

Trying to get a decent view of the facade of The Grosvenor Hotel which looks similar.

I think most of the Grosvenor's windows are arched, though?
