War diary look up.
« on: Thursday 22 November 18 11:42 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if I might ask for some info from the war diaries for 4bn,K.L.R. My wife's grandfather was apparently listed as wounded in some way on two separate occasions, round about 20/09/1918 and again c15/10/1918. My basic ancestry subscription doesn't allow me to view this sort of info.

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe

Thank you for the MaxD, but following the link only gives a message telling me to upgrade my membership which isn't an option for me at present. Thanks for responding though.

Apologies, I really didn't know that there was another type of membership.

If you have £3.50 to spare you can download it from

20 Sep 1918 - trenches near Villers Guislain - 5 killed 7 wounded (no names).  Battalion out of the line 13 Oct to 22 Oct so not clear about that incident.  There was a period of action 22-26 Oct but the diary is not good on casualties.

Thank you again MaxD,I really must go for a decent subscription. I've been going over the info I was sent.it seems the dates I posted were not the actual dates of the incidents, but I'm led to understand that the lists were published about 4-5 weeks after any actual wounding?                                                     The list publishing dates were 25/10/18 and 19/11/18,so the periods you mention could well pertain to my man.I shall go for the download from the link you sent.                                                                  Tom.

Your local public library might have free access to Ancestry and Findmypast through their computers.
Take a USB stick and you can download the images to take home.
