Brides residence on Marriage cert
« on: Thursday 22 November 18 14:32 GMT (UK) »
Hello can anyone help?

I'm trying to trace back from the Marriage of Hannah Rigg & Robert Aitchison Carruthers whom were wed on March 13th 1848
image here https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interactive/2197/48045_302022005601_1119-00231?pid=93188187&backurl=https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv%3D1%26dbid%3D2197%26h%3D93188187%26tid%3D111925486%26pid%3D120094045492%26usePUB%3Dtrue%26_phsrc%3DfQd6301%26_phstart%3DsuccessSource&treeid=111925486&personid=120094045492&hintid=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=fQd6301&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true

My calculations are that she was 13 when she wed! I can't read where here residence is, hoping it will help me find her in 1841.  Thanks
Byrne, Butterfield, Gilbert, Sutcliffe, Furey, Alderson, Warham, to name a few!

I see that she remarried in 1859 (as a widow) to Hugh McQueen, but had reverted to the Carruthers name by 1871 - is that right?

The address of the Rigg family (William, a joiner, and Margaret) was Burlington St at the time of their children's Liverpool baptisms:

Hannah, 22 Sep 1833
William, 23 Aug 1835
William George, 1 Jan 1837
George, 18 Mar 1838
Ayr: Barnes, Wylie
Caithness: MacGregor

Thank you so much, i had to go & get the children from school so couldn't look right away! I find this webpage that would prove helpful Liverpool streets in the 1841 census

If you look for (random person) Susanah Rice (b abt 1816) in Liverpool in the 1841 census you will find her in the middle of several pages covering Burlington St.

Based on a quick browse I didn't see anyone there matching the Rigg family.  I don't know whether there is any separate coverage of Burlington St. It was in a very poor and overcrowded area of Liverpool, and no doubt there might have been families who eluded the enumerator.

HO107/563/9/36/11  -  1841 Census  -  Burlington Street

William RIGG          35    Joiner J(ourneyman)
Margaret  "             30
Hannah    "               7
John        "              21 months

All born in county (Lancs) except William.  The letter in his last column looks like an S (for Scotland) more than an I (for Ireland) compared with other entries on the facing page, in my opinion.

At the same address but listed as a separate household is Margaret MASON, 55, Ind(ependent), not born in county.

Hope this helps :)
