parents Thomas Guthrie d 6 Oct 1878 and Margaret Mann d 20 June 1855.

What information are you looking for is this his birth

Mother Margt Mann

Davids occupation veterinary surgeon

I note that James Guthrie age 50 is also on 1841, High St. Montrose, he has a son David age 4 and 8 other children, no wife present.

Suggest you have a look at the Newspaper Archive and search for David Guthrie veterinary surgeon in Angus.

Article 30 April 1858 shows him qualifying in Edinburgh.Further articles in 1858 show him setting up in business in Forfar. Adverts in 1863 seem to indicate he worked in England for a time.

The last sighting of him is in June 1871 when he goes into partnership with his father.

I cannot see him in the 1881 census. His father Thomas who as you died in 1879 left a will. I would suggest , if you have not already done so, that you refer to this will. It may indicate David's whereabouts and if alive.
