Help with reading the writing, John dyer
« on: Saturday 24 November 18 12:48 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone read the writing attached.  My Dad's writing was usually good but I can' read this.   Hopefully you can make some sense of it.
Thank you

Ok.  Here is my attempt at interpretation:

London - Jarrow ?  New York.  Baltimore.  Oran.  Port Harcourt, Gib.

Left London in fog to Tyne.  Lay at anchor.  Was up at Jarrow hunting for cigs Sunday morning, quite a sight.
Sailed for New York (then he has crossed words out).  Loaded went to Algiers Went to Port Harcourt loaded coal then to Gib.

I think that looks spot on.  Thank you very much.  I don't know how you did that so quick.
