1881 Census Lookup please - Jane Homer and family of Sheffield

Hi

I am wondering if anyone can locate the Homer family in 1881 for me, please? I have tried myself, but without success.

The family are Jane, a widow, born in 1830, in Ruskington, Lincs, and her two daughters, Mary Alice born 1872, and Emma born 1874.

I think the family will be living in Sheffield, possibly with Jane's married daughter Charlotte Cousins, born 1851, and her husband Joseph, born 1840.

Can't find them I'm afraid, but Charlotte Cousins was in New Cross, Manchester
I can't attach an image, I have no idea why, but if you search for Charlotte Cousins born 1850 with Joseph as a household member (I'm on Findmypast), Manchester, that should bring them up as the only result.  Sorry, no idea what's happening with the attachment thing, I've already done it today on other posts.

I found them on Anc***y, using free access to 1881. Living in 46 Walker Street, Ancoats with children Samuel, 11, Joseph, 3 and John William, new born. No sign of Jane and family. Not listed amongst neighbours on same page..( Don't know how to show link, sorry).

Maybe Jane and her daughters were living with another person and are under that name - did she marry again?

Are all 3 of them around in 1891 and were the daughters born in Sheffield?

You cannot do attachments on the look up boards.  We are only allowed to attach snippets of images on other boards when we need something explaining or deciphering

Claire64 and Brentor boy, thank you so much for finding Joseph and family for me. That makes sense because they are living in the Prestwich area in 1891.

Milliepede, yes Mary Alice and Emma were both born in Sheffield, but so far I've only found Jane in 1891, living with Joseph and Charlotte, and still using the surname of Homer.

Robert, Jane's husband, died at Dorking Street, Sheffield in 1876. The next thing I know about the family is that Emma was baptised in Sheffield in 1885, when she would have been about eleven.

If it helps a family tree has Mary Alice death 1944 and Emma death 1933.

It has Mary Alice in Manchester Royal Infirmary in 1891 and I think Emma is there too (not listed together but on same census page)

Both laundry maids/domestic servants.
