Crown Inn - but where?
« on: Sunday 25 November 18 13:52 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone got any thoughts as to where this photo was taken - I think the pub sign reads Crown Inn, and the brewery is Stroud Brewery.

There is some writing on the rear of the bus, but I can't seem to quite see it - I think it is three words with the final word being Motors.

I would be grateful for any help!

Could it be The Crown Inn, Minchinhampton?

I don't think so - wrong sort of houses on the opposite side of the road.  I've also had a look at the St Briavel's one, and I don't think it is there either.

I've done a bit of playing around with it and I'm sure that the sign beyond the Crown Inn sign says 'Police', if that's any help.

Does anyone else see the same?

You say you "think" the sign says Crown Inn, but how certain of that are you Spidermonkey?

I brought this up a little - maybe someone could maybe get it more distinct

Small but it breaks up if enlarged any more!

Yes, I think you're right, Gadget - Police with a crown at the top.

I can see the Crown element quite clearly, and then I think the Inn bit is written with a capital I and two lower case 'n's that are written to the top of the I

Is there any chance of a larger, more contrasty scan?  This one is very small and low contrast.
