Doncaster marriage 1933 look-up
« on: Sunday 25 November 18 14:47 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find an entry for a marriage for Una Booker and Kenneth Coleman, married Doncaster RD, June Q 1933. It's not on the Findmypast Yorkshire marriage registers.  I'm actually interested in the name of the vicar, because he appears on the wedding photograph and he looks like one of the family!  I'm not directly related to this family, so I don't want to buy a certificate, so if anyone has access to an index that could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful. Thanks.

You need to know which church they married in to be able to look it up.  In this case - it can’t be looked up as www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk shows it was a civil marriage

How odd - there's a vicar stood among the wedding party! Thanks!  Maybe he was family and attended in his "working clothes".  Or perhaps a vicar blessed the marriage.  Anyway, thanks for the link to this site, it's one I haven't come across before.

Not necessarily true - it's shown as "Doncaster Register Office or Registrar Attended", so it could have been at a non-conformist church which didn't have its own registers and needed a registrar to do that part.

But it might still not be possible to look it up.
