1861 Census, Milson
« on: Sunday 25 November 18 15:05 GMT (UK) »
Are there pieces missing from this census?

I am trying to find the WYER family who were at:- The Butts, Milson in 1851 and 1871 census. FindMyPast & Ancestry both return no results.
I have browsed FindMyPast films and have found three places where the enumerator would have had to pass The Butts to get from one to the others but it is not listed nor could I find Oak Farm nor The Smithy, which I would have expected him to pass by The Butts to visit.

Regards,
Malcolm.

EDIT: Family will be:- Edward, Edith (wife), Samuel E, Bennett and Mark (sons), Sam may have left.

I can't see any where you are looking but 1861 has more pieces missing than the others

Thanks for the info Rosie.
I'll just have to keep looking.
I now know Sam and Ben married c 1870 and were elsewhere in '71.

Malcolm.

In 1861 Nickles & Padock are on RG9/1846 f152 p10.  The page is damaged and appears to be the last one.  Searching by Piece & folio numbers there are none after p10

The summary sheet at the beginning appears to infer that there should be pages numbered up to No 15

Thanks again Rosie.
Page 10 was the last I found too.
Didn't know FindMyPast had Summary books. How do I find them?

On FindMyPast the enumerators route and page summary are at the beginning of each 'Piece' I normally just work back from the image I have found.
The 1911 census has 'related images' in the bottom right hand corner of the census return for the household - these include enumerators lists showing the neighbours
