Judd family Chelmsford
« on: Monday 26 November 18 03:09 GMT (UK) »
John Judd of Chelmsford married Elizabeth Harrington of Springfield 5 July 1737 at Little Waltham.

From the will of her father Daniel Harrington, miller of Springfield proved 1759 they had four children

Elizabeth Judd
John Judd
Sarah Judd
Mary Judd

I've looked in Springfield and St Mary's Chelmsford and could not find them.
Where to go from here.

I checked Little Waltham and Great Waltham to date
I cannot understand why they married at Little Waltham by banns when they were of Chelmsford and Springfield.

Elizabeth married James Sanderson at Chelmsford he became Sir James Sanderson thanks to his father in laws business - Hop Merchant she dies 1793 St Magnus the Martyr London age 50 so born circa 1743.

John Judd junior married an Elizabeth ? from the will of his uncle 1796.

Mary Judd was left property and a lot of money when her father died 1799 and married 1800 Chelmsford to Langley Brackenbury.

Sarah Judd not mentioned in her fathers will 1799, and no mention of another son in law, so she must have died prior to that date.

It might be a case of scouring the churches within the area, have you looked at SEAX, for a sum you can look till your hearts content in your own home

Mention of a John Judd (and a John junior!) in connection with Little Waltham
http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/result_details.aspx?ThisRecordsOffSet=41&id=182031

Says "a crudely drawn and highly inaccurate map"!

Thanks for the replies, I've subscribed to Seax and have now looked at North Benfleet as they had property there, no luck.

Mention of Boreham in the Chelmsford burial register - John Judd, 18 July 1799 (FreeReg)
An Elizabeth Judd apparently buried at Boreham, 24 April 1779

No Judd baptisms in the relevant period indexed there on FamilySearch.
