Help getting past my brick wall
« on: Monday 26 November 18 16:37 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find/ confirm the parents of John Moore my husband's grandfather. A very generic name which isn't helping.

Information I have;

John was born c 1920 place unknown,
He married Winifred M A Rowlett Dec 1941, his father is down as William Moore deceased.
Registration Date
1941 - Oct-Nov-Dec
Registration district
Huntingdonshire North
Inferred County
Huntingdonshire
Spouse
John Moore
Volume Number
3b
Page number
981

John and Winifred had 4 children, 2 boys 2 girls. ( 3 are still alive). One son John born 1950 is deceased, unsure of death date.

Winifred died in Sept 2000 in Lincolnshire (Spalding District)

John died c 2008, he died in or near Holbeach Lincolnshire. He had also lived in Peterborough before moving out to Lincolnshire. Still trying to confirm which death certificate to order.

My husband's Aunt has no recollection of her grandmother's name or even where they lived.

I am hoping someone out there is a super sleuth. Thanks in advance.

at the marriage of John and winifred what was John's occupation? Who were witnesses? What was his father's occupation?
Do you have John's exact d.o.b.?
What d.o.b. was given at death registration?

Looks really good.  I suggest Andrea checks the full 1939 Register entry to compare the home address with that on the marriage certificate.
