Thank you Roger. By 1939 his son in law was an M.P.
MP for Swindon 1935-1945.
MP for St.Marylebone 1945-1963
Then  made Baron Wakefield of Kendal.
And Rowena his daughter a Baroness.
It sounds like he was living near them.

Interesting "Gentlemen only" at the end of the notice. The address given in the notice is vacant in the 1939 register.Still can't find him or Rowena in 1911.

I now have the WM newspaper Item from Feb 1939 from the film. Thanks .
I see he has an OBE I will check the London Gazette archive to see what that was supposed to be for.
Jennifer C as pointed out says Lucy and Kathleen are on the 1939 Reg living in Porthcawl ! Jen checked th birth and Katherine's mother maiden name matches. So a daughter at 45 ! and him 63 !.

Do you get the feeling something isnt honest about that ? Why do I get the feeling that Kathleen is actually Rowena's child ?

A long shot,but there is a Doris Lewis,born Neath c.1896,a visitor in a Bristol household in the 1911 census.I can't find a 1901 equivalent "Plain Doris".
