Hello, all. This will be my first post here, so please let me know if I am not posting this in the correct place. I'm currently trying to get back as far as I can in my Mulligan line, and have hit something of a dead end in and around Rasharkin. The last person I can find is Henry Mullaghan, b. 1795 in Rasharkin. He was married to an Elizabeth, but that's all the information I have. If anyone knows anything about the Mulligan/Mullaghan/Mallaghans in and around that area, it would be of great help to me! Also, if anyone lives around St. Mary's in Rasharkin and would be willing to take photos of Mulligans that may be in the graveyard there, that would be AMAZING.
Thanks!

The only family of that surname in the tithes for the parish of Rasharkin in 1834 was Mary Malihan in Gortereigh. (She was probably a widow).

No family of that name in Griffiths Valuation for 1861 (townland spelled then as Gortereghy).

I also spotted a Henry & Elisa Molihan in Tehorney in the 1851 census fragments.

The Conways are still in the townland in Griffiths but the Molihans have moved on.

There was a Henry Mullaghan in Magherboy, Rasharkin, in Griffiths in 1861. This same family in 1901:

Rasharkin RC parish records don’t start till 1848, so you may struggle to get back further than Henry born 1795.

Yep! Henry and Daniel are my 2nd great grandfather and 3rd great uncle, respectively. Thank you for the information! I very much appreciate it. Hopefully I can shake something loose. I did find a Donnel O’Mullaghan in the 1669 hearth money rolls, so I’m trying to find a connection there. Or, perhaps it’s a coincidence as it so often is with genealogy.
