Trying to trace Grandad Adam Mair WW1 record glasgow area
« on: Wednesday 28 November 18 14:40 GMT (UK) »
All I have is his name, Adam Mair, posibly born in the Cambuslang area of Glasgow. He was a miner and  I think employed by Shotts Iron Company. The family moved to Penicuik where he worked at The Roslin (Moat) pit. This was prior to 1914 and he enlisted in the army and fought at The Somme. This is to aid me in tracing his service in WW1. I have tried many sites to no avail

Thanks

Where has this come from?
We really need something a bit more positive.
You say he was possibly born 1880 Cambuslang.
We need to know for definite.
