James ELLIS
« on: Wednesday 28 November 18 14:47 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

England & Wales Marriages, 1837-2005 (London 1C, p.669) shows that James ELLIS married, I believe, Elizabeth THOMPSON in the first quarter 1869.  The evidence I have from another source is that his full name was James Henry ELLIS and that he married Elizabeth THOMPSON in 1869.

Could someone possibly confirm or otherwise that this James (Henry) ELLIS was born in Walworth, Surrey, to James and Ann ELLIS between 1834-1836 (He was baptised on 01/05/1836).

Thank you,

BAC3

Hello Louisa,

The James Henry ELLIS, who features in my PhD research, was born 17/10/1834 and as mentioned in earlier posts has no relationship to Elizabeth THOMPSON.........his parents were James and Ann ELLIS.

Sadly, I don't think I can help you.

Seems to be Henry in 1841. Age 7. In Newington. Household headed by James Ellis, 40, Wheelwright.
Quick look at possible sibling marriages, at least two - Frances and Edward Joseph - may have married as Allis.
But the James Heny Allis who married in 1856 is not him.
